The legislative, executive and judicial powers of Armenia should reflect the collective will of the Armenian people, President Armen Sarkissian said in a statement.
“The fact that the democratic processes in Armenia are irreversible should not cause any doubt either in Armenia or beyond its borders,” the President said.
He emphasized that under the Armenian Constitution “power belongs to people.” Therefore, he said, the legislative, executive and judicial powers of Armenia should “reflect the collective will of the Armenian people and serve their Constitutional goals.”
“I urge all citizens of Armenia, irrespective of their social and political position and post, to maintain peace and calmness, commit to the Constitution and laws,” the President stated.
He urged everyone to remain sober and tolerant.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan earlier urged citizens to block all exits and entries to all courts of the republic. The Prime Minister is going to address the nation at noon tomorrow.
