Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo hosted a reception on the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Attending the event were representatives of the Armenian community and French officials.
“Today we are united in recognizing the Armenian Genocide and condemning denialism,” Anne Hidalgo said, addressing the attendees.
She emphasized the role of the Armenian community in the life of France.
Speeches were offered by Co-Chairs of the Coordinating Council of the Armenian Organizations in France Murad Papazyan and Ara Toranian, as well as Armenia’s Ambassador to France Hasmik Tolmajian.
The reception at the City Hall was followed by a religious service at the Armenian Dt. Hovhannes Mkrtich Church in memory of the genocide victims.
The participants then marched from Yerevan square along the main Champs-Élysées Avenue to the Turkish Embassy.
