Former US Vice-President Joe Biden has declared a presidential bid, putting an end to months of speculation.
In a video announcement, Mr Biden warned that the "core values of the nation... our very democracy, everything that has made America America, is at stake".
"It's time for respected leadership on the world stage—and dignified leadership at home. It's time for equal opportunity, equal rights, and equal justice. It's time for an economy that rewards those who actually do the work," Biden said in a statement.
The 76-year-old enters a crowded race for the 2020 Democratic nomination.
He is up against 19 other hopefuls, including Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Bernie Sanders.
Back in February 2019 Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian made headlines after he asked Joe Biden whether he intends to run in 2020 elections.
The two men met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
