Armenian ex-President Serzh Sargsyan’s nephew Narek Sargsyan has been detained in Prague, the Armenian Police say.
Narek Sargsyan, wanted in Armenia on various criminal charges, was located with the assistance of Interpol and law-enforcement bodies of a number of countries.
When detained, he presented a false Guatemalan passport and introduced himself as Franklin Gonzales, the Police say.
The information on Sargsyan’s detention has been transferred to the Prosecutor General’s Office. He is now being processed for extradition back to Armenia, the police added.
On July 26 Narek Sargsyan was charged with illegal illegal drug and weapon possession. An international arrest warrant was issued on July 24.
