Armenia is ready to normalize relations with Turkey, Armenia's acting Foreign Minister says.
“We are prepared to have normalization of relations without preconditions,” said Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in a meeting with Turkish journalists in Yerevan. He added however, that “we seem to be dancing a tango alone.”
He met with the reporters to discuss Sunday’s snap parliamentary election results and foreign policy priorities.
“Now Armenia-Turkey relations have their own rationale and should be treated on their own merit, all other related issues are seen as precondition,” he said, adding that preconditions are not a good way of building relations between neighbors.
Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Pashinyan earlier said: “I have said on many occasions that we are ready to establish direct relationships with Turkey without any precondition. And we hope Turkey is ready to do the same.”
