Telemadrid public television station of Madrid has presented an hour-long program about Armenia.
The program reminds that “Armenia is considered the place of origin of one of the first civilizations.”
The authors advise to visit the History Museum, which hosts over 400,000 objects, among them a 5,500 year-old leather shoe.
“To know the recent history of Armenia a visit to the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute is a must. This building recalls the million and a half Armenians massacred at the beginning of the 20th century,” the program notes.
"In addition, Armenia was the first nation to adopt Christianity. Thus, we could not leave this wonderful country without knowing the Khor Virap monastery, a well-known place of pilgrimage where the patron saint of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Gregory the Illuminator, was imprisoned. Also Mount Ararat, which contemplates the image of this monastery, is closely linked to Christianity,” the authors remind.
