Russia hopes for progress in the Karabakh conflict settlement process with the goodwill of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a press conference today, TASS reports.
He said the issue has obtained features of a “protracted conflict,” but can well be solved in case there is political will in Yerevan and Baku and with support from the international community, including the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
“I think the statements on the willingness to solve the issue, including those from Baku, deserve every support. We hope Armenian friends will reciprocate,” he added.
The top diplomats of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Elmar Mammadyarov held a meeting in Paris today with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
