Armenia will be the only country aside from Russia to purchase new AK-12 assault rifles, Kalashnikov Concern CEO Vladimir Dmitriev said in an interview with Kommersant.
“The contract has been signed, and we are preparing a small batch of about 50 rifles,” he said.
“They will test it in practice and, hopefully will continue with the purchase,” Dmitriev added.
He did not go into detail whether the manufacturing of AK-12 and AK-15 rifles has started in Armenia.
In August 2018 Armenia and Kalashnikov Group signed an agreement on launching the production in Armenia.
