Mezzo classical music channel has aired a film about renowned Armenian conductor Sergey Smbatyan.
The 25-minute film presents Smbatyan’s portrait, tracking his path from the first concert at the age of 18, to his work with the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia and his performances with a number of other famed orchestras of the world.
The film tells about the courage of an 18-year-old student of the Yerevan State Conservatory, who undertakes to create the orchestra, which he heads today.
“We wanted to create something special that would keep us together after graduating the Conservatory,” Smbatyan tells in the film.
Mezzo also introduces viewers to Armenian music art.
The film was shot in Germany in 2018, where Sergey Smbatyan was performing with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.
The video has been recently broadcast on Mezzo TV, next broadcasts are scheduled for February 25, March 6, 18 and 19.
