Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting not far away - Armenia's Deputy FM
2019-03-07 17:55:16

Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting is not far away, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told reporters today.

He added, however, that the date still needs to be agreed on.

He rebuffed the rumors that the current Armenian Government has refused from the agreements reached in Vienna and Saint Petersburg.

He said the expansion of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office is still on the agenda.

Kocharyan blamed the Azerbaijani side for the failure to implement the agreements.

The Deputy FM said any meeting is better than resumption of military actions and added that so far the meetings have pursued the goal to reduce the risks of resumption of hostilities.

Speaking about the possibility of Artsakh’s return to the negotiating table, Shavarsh Kocharyan said it will be a “hard step” for Azerbaijan and the latter will be doing its best to prevent it.

He stressed, however, that “speaking about a settlement is illogical if one of the main conflicting parties is missing from the negotiating table.”
