Jeans made in Armenia’s Gyumri will soon replace the ones imported from Turkey and China. The production will be on sale in a month, according to a video posted on Armenian Government’s Facebook page.
Zakaryan family has invested $2 million in the industry that employs about 50 people. They have imported the necessary equipment from abroad. The Government has supported the company by providing customs and tax privileges.
The company is planning to sell 5% of the production in Armenia and export the rest. A contract has already been signed in Russia, cooperation with Italy and other European countries is expected in the future.
